ABSTRACT

Objective We aimed to assess the association between urinary bisphenol A(BPA)concentrations and gestational age in pregnant women. Methods A total of 248 pregnant women were recruited from a maternal and child care hospital in Shanghai. A questionnaire survey was completed to collect socio-demographic information and spot urine samples were collected during pregnancy. Gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(GC-MS/MS)was used to measure BPA concentrations in urine samples. Linear relationship between urinary BPA level and gestational age was assessed by using generalized additive models. Multivariate regression model was used to evaluate associations of prenatal BPA exposure with gestational age. Results BPA was detected in all the urine samples. Median value and geometric mean of urinary BPA levels were 0.85 μg/L and 1.21 μg/L, respectively. Linear relationship between urinary BPA concentration and gestational weeks was confirmed(non-linear P > 0.05). Positive association between urinary BPA level and gestational age was indicated(regression coefficient, β = 0.19;95%CI:0.04-0.35;P = 0.016). However, it was only observed in girls, stratified by sex of newborns(β = 0.18;95%CI:0.03-0.34;P = 0.020). After stratification by trimester, no significant association was found in the second or the third trimesters. Conclusion Pregnant women are extensively exposed to BPA. Urinary BPA exposure during pregnancy may extend gestational age, especially in girls.

ABSTRACT

Along with the innovation of minimally invasive techniques and instrumentations, the surgical route through a natural orifice has been widely utilized. At present, there are two common surgeries-transvaginal and trans-umbilical,and there are many advantages, including quick postoperative recovery, incisional cosmesis, rapid postoperative pain relief, and shorter hospital stay. However, different complications may occur after natural orifice surgery, such as entryrelated complications, bleeding, and adjacent organ injury. The key to reducing surgical complications can be achieved by strictly following the indications and improving the operative skills of natural orifice surgery.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To study the efficacy of transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery(vNOTES)sacrocolpopexy in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse(POP).METHODS: From June 2017 to September 2018,33 POP patients who underwent vNOTES sacrocolpopexy in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University were collected. The operative time, blood loss and postoperative complications were recorded to evaluate the safety of the operation. After regular follow-up,POP-Q was used to objectively evaluate the effect of surgery, and PFIQ-7 was used to evaluate the recovery effect.RESULTS: In this group,3 of 33 cases were converted to transumbilical laparoscopy, and in the remaining 30 cases the surgery was successfully completed. The operation time was(184.97±41.91)min,and mean estimated blood loss was(28.33±18.77)mL.No complications such as exposure or infection of mesh were found after operation. The POP-Q indicators were significantly improved in 1,3,6 months after surgery(P<0.05),and the quality of life was better after operation than before(P<0.05).CONCLUSION: vNOTES is a feasible and safe approach for sacrocolpopexy with positive short-term efficacy in the treatment of POP.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To study the constituents in the whole plant of Boschniakia rossica. Methods: The constituents were separated and purified with chromatographic methods. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods (1D, 2D NMR, UV, IR, and HRESI-TOF-MS) and chemical analyses. Results: One new phenylpropanol glycoside (1) and its five known analogues were obtained from B. rossica. They were identified as trans-p-coumaryl-(2'-O-β-Z)-glucopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), salidroside I (2), rossicasin A (3), trans-p-coumaryl alcohol 1-O-β-glucopyranosyl(1→4)-α-rhamnopyranosyl(1→3)-β-glucopyranoside (4), salidroside (5), and acetoside (6). Conclusion: Among the known compounds, compound 2 is firstly isolated from the plants in genus Boschniakia C. A. Mey. ex Bongard. Meanwhile, the 13C-NMR data of 9 and 4' positions in compound 4 are corrected. © 2013 Tianjin Press of Chinese Herbal Medicines.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo establish a method for determination 1-bromopropane (1-BP) in workplace air by gas chromatography-flame ionization detector (GC-FID).

METHOD1-bromopropane in workplace air was collected with activated charcoal tube, then desorbed by carbon disulfide and determined by GC-FID. 1-bromopropane was quantitatively measured using retention time and peak area.

RESULTSLinear regression formula was Y = 3353.4x-10064 in a range of 2.50 ∼ 500.00 µg/ml with regression coefficient R = 0.9998. Detection limit was 0.25 µg/ml and the lowest detection concentration of 1-brmopropane in air was 0.14 mg/m(3) (at air volume 1.8L). The mean recoveries of 1-BP were between 96.8% and 102.6%, and relative standard deviation of inter and intra-assay was less than 10%. The average desorption efficiencies were between 93.2% and 104.4%. The samples in activated charcoal tube could be stably stored for 5 days at room temperature.

CONCLUSIONThe method could be feasible to determine 1-bromopropane in workplace air.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of auxins 2,4-D,IAA,IBA,NAA on induction of adventitious roots as well as that of IBA concentrations on the growth of adventitious roots and the accumulation of caffeic acid derivatives, with test-tube seedling leaves Echinacea pallida as the explant, and cultivate adventitious roots in bioreactors.

RESULT1.0 mg x L(-1) IBA was found the best for the induction of adventitious roots, with the numer of induced adventitious roots up to 22. 5 in each culture dish. Among different concentrations for suspension cultivation of IBA tested, 1.0 mg x L(-1) IBA was found the most suitable for the growth of adventitious roots and the accumulation of caffeic acid derivatives. In a 5 L balloon type bubble bioreactor, 8.98 g x L(-1) dry weight was achieved after one month, which was 2.05 times of 4.38 g x L(-1) dry weight cultivated in a triangular flask. The content of echinacoside cultivated in a bioreactor was 14.08 mg x g(-1) DW, which was 2.4 times of cultivated roots. The contents of chlorogenic acid, chicoric acid and total caffeic acid derivatives were 4.0-25.6 times of ultivated roots.

CONCLUSIONThe study can provide high-quality biomedical drugs containing such caffeic acid derivatives as echinacoside for mass production of Echinacea purpurea medicines.
